General theme (minor spoilers)
This is the tale of Jack and Dundee, two bumbling inhabitants of Stress City. All is about normal in this dysfunction town until our they visit the town's new 'problem solver', Mrs. D. There they find a sign saying, "heroes apply within"... and our story really begins.

Some thoughts on "Stress City... "

1.) well written and edited.

2.) a story that's abuzz with activity, but in a benign and harmless sort of way.

3.) written in a humorous vein... featuring odd and different characters placed in unusual circumstances.

4.) it had a convoluted and intriguing plot that involves travel between in alternate worlds.

5.) if I had a niggling concern, it would be the asking price ($7.99) for this novel.

Impressions:
This work is in a category that I'd call fantasy-lite... told with tongue in cheek style and relying on a host of amusing situations and related word-play... a set-up that's a perfect fit for our heroes.
Those fantasy-adventure lovers who are more attuned to tales with truly evil villains or violent battles with gory outcomes, will probably want to look beyond this offering.

This is a fun and entertaining read... fantasy for those with maybe a more genteel heart.

STRESS CITY is a novel which is made up of a lot of “parts” part-satire, part-fantasy, part-mystery, etc. Everyone is Stress City knows way too much about everyone else. They’re all expected to behave in predictable ways, like Jack and Dundee who are the ‘village idiots’ so they’re always doing something idiotic. When the new City Problem Solver comes to town, everything changes. Stress City is not what it seems and there is more than meets the eye to some of its inhabitants. STRESS CITY is a fun, light novel with interesting and very diverse characters. There is definitely something for everyone to enjoy while reading STRESS CITY.

So here we have an entertaining and slightly different "fairytale" following the antics of an eclectic mix of characters living in the beautifully imagined Stress City. Highly humerous and a great deal of fun I enjoyed this one thoroughly!

Foolish Folk Jack and Dundee, bookshop owner Duggey and so called problem solver Mrs D will capture your imagination - and a fun filled story awaits - a battle for the souls of Stress City.

Pure escapism with a unique twist, this will have you laughing out loud and longing for more.
